Raju Miah Reception

Raju, a rather cute and mischievous little boy lives with his parents in the northern part of Bangladesh called Gaibanda. His father Mohammad Solim is a van driver and his mother Mst. Ajeron Begum is a Housewife.

Gaibanda is a rural district where the average literacy rate in is only 24.3%; among them: male 31.6% and female 16.5%. The main occupations of Gaibandha district is agriculture, and agricultural laborer. Raju has only seen poverty and the hardships of raural life in Bangladesh. But he dares to dream big. Raju wants to become an educated person. His parents, acutely aware of their own limitations, due to a lack of education are over joyed at the opportunity afforeded to Raju through the Jaago Foundation. They could never have dreamed of giving their son an inetrnational standard private education. Raju’s father is the sole earning member of his family who can hardly manage three times meal in a day!

This is Raju’s 1st school report. His teacher say’s

‘Raju is a very bright child. He has outstanding capability to understand lessons and his observation is quite good too. He has the potential to do great in future. I am proud of Raju that he has been promoted to KG 1 with good performance.’
